Iran trends: Mourning of Muharram during the pandemy+ #don't_kill_kulbar

Hi. this is IranWeek and I'm going to talk about Iran and discuss the news about this country with you, in a way they're really happened not the way the propaganda wants you to believe. So join this channel and discover the reality about Iran. Yesterday, the supreme leader of the Islamic republic, Mr. Ali khamenei clamis in a public speech that he is going to obey the protocols and limits that announced by the Iranian health ministry for the mourning of Muharram and asked everyone whom they wants to take part in this ritual to do so as well. The Mourning of Muharram is a set of commemoration rituals observed by Shia Muslims, as well as some non-Muslims. The commemoration falls in Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar. Many of the events associated with the ritual take place in congregation halls known as Hussainia. This ritual consists of many parts and one of the main parts of it is Noha. Noha is some sorrowful poems and stories that be inspired from the battle of Karbala and the death of imam Husayn .The poet or another one which is called Noha khan, read the noha with plaintive rhythm and the main subject of noha is the pain from the killing of Husayn ibn Ali. This ritualist act in the past few years becomes more political and those people whom they observing these Nohas, announce their political views, which are mostly radical islamic in the Noha. Due the political importance of this ritual, the Iranian government have decided to hold this event for this year as well, regardless of the pandemy. After the public speech of Mr. Khamenei, some of the most important, yet politically powerful figures of Noha reacted to his words. They announced their obedience to his thoughts and views and reclaim that they're caring so much about the safety of those whom they wanted to take part in the lamentation of Imam Hossein. They asked the government to clearly announce the safety protocols for the ritual so they can prepare themselves, considering to those protocols. Based on what happened few months ago, these kind of allegations are not so believable. The pandemy in Iran has started from the city of Qom and one of the holy shrines in that city. On that time, so many people, including activists and normal citizens announced their worries via social networks about spreading of the virus and asked the government to shut down the mosques and shrines for the safety of the citizens. They however, due some political reasons refused to do that and also refused to quarantine the infected cities and places on that period of time. The highest amount of deaths and infected patients in the world was the consequence of that decision. This background makes it difficult to believe such allegations about considering the health protocols and caring about the safety of the citizens. Their insistence for holding the ritual, even in this situation which is obviously very risky shows one more time that in this part of the world, politics and power is the most important things for the governments. Even more important than the lives of their own citizens. Thank you for listening to Iran talk. Please subscribe the channel and stay updated with the true news about iran.
